Data Mining Discovers 30% More Potential Customers

A manufacturer of consumer products was getting ready to do a prospect mailing to individual households. Initially, he wanted to select by geography only, using zip codes or carrier routes.

"Let's take a look at your best customers, and see what we can come up with", we suggested. So we used our Consumer Insights™ , which identifies common characteristics in a select pool of people. By analyzing this manufacturer's list, we found almost one-third more prospects for him! They are strong candidates for his product.

Lesson learned: Our Consumer Insights™ is a great tool for anyone who wants to make the most of a mailing. And who doesn't?

Use Analysis Services to Reduce Costs

Many times we continue marketing to the same target group or area because it has worked in the past. Try a more advanced approach and re-examine your current program:

Identify your best customers with the most responsive age and/or income groups, and find more of those prospects

Identify geographic areas that have few or no responses to your previous programs and eliminate them in your upcoming mailings.

By excluding non-responsive groups or areas and expanding your list to match your ideal customer profile, you not only reduce your total cost of mailing, you also increase your opportunities to generate more sales.

Study Finds Consumers Prefer Tangible Statements by Direct Mail

A recent study by Group 1 Software says that Americans spend twice as much time reviewing printed bank and credit card statements, compared to the 3.5 minutes they invest in examining their web equivalents. The study also found that consumers pay more attention to direct mail than to "cold" prospecting emails. Hmmm… Does that mean, to touch it is to pay attention to it? Let's find out with one of our lists!
